1978 - Act (1977:630) to amend the national insurance act (1962:381)

Policy Field:
Family & Children
Leave Schemes for Parents
Major Implications of the Reform:

The parental benefits duration is extended from 210 to 270 days, of which 90 days are the new special parental benefits that may be at the parents' disposal until the child turns eight, or has finished first grade. A father is entitled to ten days of leave with benefits in connection with the birth of a child. (Previously a father only had a right to these days at the birth of the second or higher-order child.) The guarantee level of the benefit is increased.
